New Delhi, May 09, 2007, 10.36 (CBCI News): "Sandesha is contributing its mite towards the promotion and preservation of the rich cultural heritage of India and it tries to inculcate in the younger generation a taste for the classical arts of India", said deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada in Karnataka, Sri Maheshwar Rao.

He said this on the occasion of the valedictory function of Sandesha summer courses 2007 held at Sandesha Institute, Mangalore on May 5, 2007 at which he was invited as the chief guest. "In the past we did not have institutions like this. Now that such an opportunity is available, our younger generation should make good use of these opportunities", he affirmed.
During the valedictory function, the new web site of Sandesha was launched and the the new audio CD brought out by Sandesha was also released.
The new website has been developed and sponsored by the Glow Touch Technologies Mangalore with its CEO Dr Ravichandran, assisted by Sumanth, Vishwanath, Yogish and Avitha .

Expressing awe for Sandesha, Dr Ravichandran extended his full support to the institute in its mission of establishing peace and harmony through art and culture.
Carnatic Vocal artiste from, Chennai Kum P Prarthana Rao released the new CD - multiplication tables in singing which are made easy for learning by the students. She later presented a Carnatic music recital.
Sandesha's annual summer courses which were inaugurated on April 12 were organized to provide the school children an opportunity to spend their holidays fruitfully and at the same time to inculcate in them a taste for rich classical arts of India and to train them in new skills and arts.
This year there were training classes in Bharatanatyam, Carnatic Vocal, guitar, drums, keyboard, drawing, painting, arts and crafts and spoken English. Over 200 children and youth from the district and outside participated in these courses.
Director of Sandesha Fr Francis Lewis, honoured the teachers of the courses. Some of the students namely Bro Kiran Monis, Vaishnavi, Pallavi and Teena Sequeira shared their experiences during the course.
On behalf of the parents, Pushpavathi, and Smt Maria D'Sa extended their gratitude to the institute and the teachers for their efforts and dedication.
Representing the teachers, Ms Lizzie Pereira spoke. The Chief Guest presented prizes to the outstanding students and also gave away the participation certificates.
The participants of the different sections presented a glimpse of what they have learnt during the courses.
Sandesha, a Karnataka Regional Centre for Communications functioning under the auspices of the Karnataka Regional Bishops' Council was established on Nov 26, 1991.
