Carmel School bags the Republic Day parade First Prize

BANGALORE: Students of Carmel School, Padmanabhanagar, have done the institution proud by bagging the first prize (Group III) at the Republic Day parade held at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground. The team received the prize from Governor H.R. Bhardwaj.

School chairperson F.A. Kudroli congratulated the students and expressed his happiness that the school has been winning prizes every year at the Republic Day parade.

Graduation day

National Public School, Rajajinagar, held the graduation ceremony for the outgoing students of class 12 recently. The occasion began with the melodious invocation “Jagatha Janani Jagadamba”.

Justice M. Rama Jois, as chief guest, spoke on the need to strengthen character, attain wisdom and follow the path of virtuosity so as to become better human beings and lead to the progress of the nation.

K.P Gopalakrishna, chairman, NPS Schools, urged the students to widen their horizons and reach greater heights.

Bindu Hari, director, NPS Schools, in a thought-provoking presentation, spoke to students on the need to adopt morality and imbibe good values in life while refraining from anti-social activities.

The parents’ fraternity emphasised the role played by the institution in the evolvement of their wards.

School prefect Nidhi Ramaraj, representing the outgoing batch, spoke nostalgically about the indelible memories they would carry with them.

Principal Shanthamma Gopalkrishna declared the students graduates and administered the school pledge. This was followed by a heart-warming rendition of the school hymn, “Shine On Us”.

The memorable evening ended with inspirational songs by the teachers dedicated to their students.

Annual day

Premier High School, Srirampuram, celebrated its annual day with the theme “Maitri” (friendship) at the Chowdiah Memorial Hall.

Aruna L. Kamath, Divisional Manager, The Shamrao Vithal Co-op Bank Ltd., was the chief guest. Gayathri P. Gangoli, senior manager of the bank, was the guest of honour.

The pre-primary section celebration was held in the morning and children presented dances and songs to the delight of the huge gathering of parents.

C. Sridhar, Regional Manager (Circulation), The Hindu, Bangalore, was the chief guest at the celebrations held in the evening.

Janaki Ram S.B., retired principal, HAL School, was the guest of honour.

Students from classes five to ten presented dances, skits and songs. A skit in Kannada was the highlight of the show.
