Dharmasthala Ratnavarma Heggade award

Mangalore, February 6, 2010 : The Dharmasthala Ratnavarma Heggade Award which was given by the tulu koota, Mangalore for the tulu drama hand copy has been announced. The first award was won by Udayavani sub editor Puthige Padmanabha Rai for his book ‘Marl Ereg’.

The second place was goes to Jnaneshwari S Joshi of Puttur of her ‘Nambugeg Imbu’ and the third place was won by Catherin Rodrygus of Katpady for her ‘Ari Thinde’.

This award was sponsored by Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade. Since 1976 they are giving this award.

The first award was including Rs 5,000, second Rs 3,000 and third prize was Rs 2,000 and it also includes momentos and certificates.

Udayavani news bureau chief Manohar Prasad, Tulu literature Mundappa Boloor and Tulu poet A Shivanand Karkera are the members of selection committee.

The award will be distributed in the ‘Bisu Parba’ of tulu koota which will be held on April 14, said vice president M Ratna Kumar in a press release.
